OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nate Adames, Anna Maria College
(FR, RB - Salem, NH)
Adames helped to lead the AMCATS back from a 14-0 hole, racking up
182 all-purpose yards, including 151 yards and two touchdowns on
the ground. He scored twice in the third quarter on runs of four
yards and 12 yards. He was Anna Maria's go-to-man all day, earning
39 total touches in the game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Keith Barnes, Maritime
(Soph., LB - Westbury, N.Y./Westbury)
Barnes had a team-high 8.5 tackles (seven solo and three assisted)
in Maritime's 68-6 win over Becker on Saturday, including three for
combined losses of 18 yards. The 6-0, 240-pounder had an
interception and a fumble recovery to go along with two forced
fumbles and two sacks.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luis Robitaille, Castleton
(Jr., K - Poughkeepsie, NY)
Robitaille booted Castleton to victory Saturday at Anna Maria,
converting a 28-yard field goal with just 18 seconds remaining to
earn the 24-21 win. Robitaille was a perfect 3-for-3 on point after
tries as well.
Co-ROOKIES OF THE WEEK
Tyler Carpenter, Castleton
(Fr., RB - Fort Edward, NY)
Carpenter led the Spartans to a 24-21 win over Anna Maria
Saturday, running for 104 yards on 23 carries. Carpenter also
scored a pair of first-half touchdowns, scoring on runs of five and
two yards respectively.
Evan Cassidy, Castleton
(Fr., WR - South Burlington, VT)
Cassidy led the Castleton receiving corps with eight catches for
147 yards in Saturday's 24-21 win at Anna Maria. The biggest of the
eight catches came with just 18 seconds remaining and the game tied
at 21 when Cassidy hauled in a 34 yard strike setting up the
game-winning field goal.
