Coach Kendrick-Holmes To Be Featured On NBC Today Show Friday Morning; Vote For Him As Liberty Mutual Coach Of The Year

Privateer football sixth-year head coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes and Maritime College will be featured on the national NBC Today Show tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 22. The piece will focus on Kendrick-Holmes’ life as Maritime College’s football coach, his service as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves and his impending deployment to Afghanistan as a U.S. Navy officer upon the completion of the 2010 Privateer football season. The Today Show airs nationally on the National Broadcasting Company beginning at 7 a.m. EDT.

Kendrick-Holmes’ segment is scheduled to air at 7:18 am EDT and again on the NBC Nightly News Sunday evening, Oct. 24, before Football Night in America.

The New York Times reported Kendrick-Holmes’ story on Sept. 29 and that piece caught the attention of producers at the Today Show. The NBC crew was on campus filming throughout last week and attended the home game on Saturday, which Maritime won, 23-0, over Becker College to improve to 7-0 overall on the season.

The Maritime football program is also beginning a campaign, urging followers to vote for Coach Kendrick-Holmes as the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year. A new banner has been placed on the right side of the football page on the Maritime Athletics website. That link will lead followers to the page to vote for Coach. Votes can be made once per day per e-mail address until Dec. 4 and the top 15 coaches at the end of voting will be eligible for the award. Currently, Kendrick-Holmes sits in 22nd place with 170 votes. You can vote for him by clicking here.
